This was our lunch spread for our Cultural Orientation Day. I found the half sandwich concept interesting, I kept thinking where are the tops of these sandwiches? I also tried the rolls with raisins that were next to the sandwiches. They reminded me of Polish Babka but a little sweeter. And of course, I just had to wash my lunch down with some halfvolle melk. Milk is the drink of choice here. Makes sense that the Dutch value their calcium; they are after all the world’s tallest people.
